Terry Chishimba is the current Kucetekela Foundation intern. He just graduated from Pestalozzi Education Centre in November 2019. He is an open minded person, loves meeting new people and enjoys reading.
Terry joined the Kucetekela Foundation scholarship program in January 2015, starting in eighth grade. During secondary school, Terry participated in several of extracurricular activities while maintaining academic results.
He was very involved in clubs such as the environmental club, which helped students care for their environments. He was also a co-founder of a Women Empowerment project, Women Must Be. In addition, he was appointed the entertainment prefect at his Pestalozzi due to his creativity and excellent team leadership.
In tenth grade, he participated in the Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) held in Rwanda bringing together African students from all over the continent. He engaged in a number of short courses concerning how to combat different issues affecting Africa. Later, in eleventh grade he was accepted to participate in the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He took courses in biology while engaging with students from all over the world.
He has also participated in United World College short course. He became interested in cultural diversity and globalization because of the courses taught there. Terry loves graphic design and plans to be the kind of designer that is diverse in his work, while spreading messages of peace.
