Dr. Oliver Barry

Oliver is a Co-Founder and the President of Kucetekela Foundation (KF). He co-founded KF after seeing the need for secondary school education for young people in Zambia. After graduating from Princeton University, Oliver was accepted into the Princeton-in-Africa fellowship program (PiAf), which provided a year-long grant for non-profit humanitarian work in Africa. As a PiAf fellow, Oliver worked for Africare, a U.S.-based non-profit organization, in Lusaka, Zambia. He specifically worked on a project that sought to prevent and mitigate the social, medical and economic consequences of HIV/AIDS for children throughout Zambia. During his time at Africare, Oliver saw great potential in many children but realized the dire need and desire for access to quality education. He felt compelled to do more for these children and subsequently helped to found KF.

In his role at KF, Oliver is primarily responsible for administrative and development work. He also assists with the general financial management and oversight of various programmatic activities.

In his professional work, Oliver is a pediatric cardiologist practicing at Boston Children’s Hospital.
